I Made This.

(WARNING: the following entry is for pizza lovers only)

i'm really getting into chicago style deep dish pizza. what am i saying, i've always been into it. but lately, i've entered into an extreme season of love. borderline obsession. we took a weekend trip to chicago a few weeks ago to get some. being from detroit, you gotta love and represent the pizza papalis!!! (what i consider the PERFECTION of pizza) then i had an insane idea. i'm gonna make this kind of pizza. i admit it's an intimidating thought to most ordinary men. so i studied and RESEARCHED for two weeks on how to make this pie. i even had to buy the special pan (to create the deepness.) i bought only the freshest of ingredients. i even split it half and half (my side & colleen's side) so she could have her evil mushrooms. this was an investment. what up now 'papa john?' i learned from the masters. giordano. gino. mr. malnati. mr. papalis. davis.

colleen was so impressed by my creation. i was most proud of the crust, as you can clearly see. freaking love the deep dish!

Best Mom Award goes to....

carl here. i just wanted to take some time out to say what a good mom colleen is.

its so neat to see her interacting and taking care of waylen. he sure loves his mommy! its obvious whenever she walks in the door and he just lights up! colleen instantly became a great mom, from the very first day waylen arrived. she makes sure he is always eating healthy foods. she reads him tons of books (i think we have the record for most baby books checked out at the library. and late fines too.) she dresses him in cool and stylish clothes (he looks like a miniature version of me.) i could go on. she just plain rocks as a mom, and i am so proud of her!!!!!

men are furry

here i am hanging out with my grandpa jeff. its nice having 2 grandpas and 2 grandmas because i can get a double spoiling! anyways, i like my grandpa because he has a nice beard - just like my daddys!!! (although dad told me he is just too lazy to shave sometimes) maybe my other grandpa in wisconsin will grow one for me :)

one of the things i've learned in life so far is that dad is furry and mommy is soft (my cat Hobo is furry too!!).

My Dad...

i love this shirt. waylen told me it was his favorite too. its almost as classic as his 'i crawl the line shirt.'

Birthday Boy

carl here. hard to imagine but TODAY is mr. waylen magoo's birthday! very exciting. we sang 'happy birthday' to him this morning at 8:58am. i think we will spoil him and get him a new pair of shoes. maybe his first pair of nikes. or some sweet puma's with velcro. or maybe we'll go all out and get him his first pair of air jordan's. hmmm...

we celebrated yesterday with colleen's family at chuck e cheese. me met half way at saginaw. it was a great time... for waylen. he loved it. it was like an indoor carnival of madness... so much to see and take it. it's like las vegas for kids. you put your tokens in the colorful noisy machine's and play. if you are between the ages of 3 and 11, this place is paradise. but, if you are between the ages of 12 and 99, well, that's a different story. absolute chaos, mayhem and stress. parents running around looking for their kids. employee's ragged, miserable and disgruntled. leftover food and spills every where. everyone has a headache. people screaming. quite a stressful ordeal. but waylen and his cousins loved every minute of it. i am glad this only has to happen once a year...
